Why does the downloading process stop after I locked my screen?

Perhaps you have enabled "Disable WiFi when screen is locked" feature in your settings. You just need to enter Settings > WLAN > Advanced Settings > Disable WiFi when screen is locked. Then you’ll be able to run the downloading process in background.
